Coach Elliot
Founder of Brooklyn Chess, Elliot spent years playing and studying chess while teaching students across a wide range of subjects, focusing on building understanding, confidence, and a genuine love for learning.​​​​​​​

Coach Kakha
Kakha has been playing chess since 12 years old and has reached a peak FIDE rating of 2294. Kakha focuses his classes on dynamic chess. Calculating through moves, thinking critically, and understanding endgames are the focal points.

Coach Thor
With 25 years of teaching experience, Thor is proud to share his love of the royal game with the next generations of chess hopefuls. He has created chess programs at several NYC schools and instructed at I.S. 318 that won at Nationals. He focuses on the de Groot chess teaching method, as well as, Bloom's critical and creative thinking skills.

Sure! Here's a bit about Brooklyn Chess:
We offer a free trial class so your child can experience our program before signing up.
We run chess classes for kids aged 5 to 15 (with some flexibility).
Each class is 90 minutes long, with an average of 6–8 students.
We have classes for:
Beginners (just learning how the pieces move),
Intermediate (with some experience),
Advanced (around 1000 USCF and higher).
Every student receives a ChessKid Gold Membership to practice at home. We check progress regularly.
We also offer tournament support for students who compete.
Class structure: lesson → puzzles → games—designed for learning, progress, and play!
